Spoke to the specialist surgeon regarding my dentist’s concerns and he does not think a biopsy is warranted at this point in time. For the moment I have a list of suspicious changes to keep an eye out for, and instructions to call him immediately if I notice any of them, but he suspects the most likely cause is a callus from repeated biting. To be fair, my dentist has been recommending a splint to relieve the biting for literally 10 years, it just so happens to cost $700 which I quite simply do not have.
The surgeon also recommended that, even in the absence of any suspicious changes, if the dentist still doesn’t like how it looks when I see him again in 6 months or so, we should do the biopsy anyway because, ideally, it should be gone by then and hanging around probably counts as S U S P I C I O U S activity.
As for university: the first semester of my first year is officially complete! Relieved to say I got everything handed in on time, so now is just a matter of awaiting results.
People keep on asking if I’m “enjoying it” or “having fun” and I’m not really sure how to answer that? Like, I’m not having a “bad” time, for sure, and it’s definitely interesting, but “fun” is not the priority, which makes these conversations somewhat awkward to navigate.
Was considering taking on a winter semester, but ultimately decided not to. Work is unlikely to sign off on the necessary paid leave for one thing, and I’d rather not cause them any more conflict with my education than it already does. Not to mention the handful of personal reasons making the winter break a welcome breather at this point in time- but those are neither here nor there.
Got myself a Rainbow High doll the day after my final project was submitted:
Rainbow High – Junior High | Violet Willow
Dolls with big inset eyes are a bit of a weakness for me, and her outfit is reminiscent of Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time” (1998) music video outfit, so… I mean, I was going to buy her anyway, clearing out the semester just gave me socially acceptable validation to tell everybody about her.
Serving 1998 Britney Spears realness.
Don’t be jealous.
